Negative side waterproofing

Common issues and queries you can face

Negative side waterproofing includes two types

1- Craked structures: For instant leakage stopping and to form a permanent elastic waterproofing membrane, a PU injection foam and a flexible seal is recommended.

2- Structures exposed to negative hydrostatic: For preventing and treating the surface problem and hairline cracks in old and problematic concrete, a crystalline waterproofing is recommended.

Step by step solution

weber solution

  1. For cracked structures

weberdry 610 i is a low viscosity water reactive polyurethane injection composed of a resin and a catalyst that when injected into cracks it will transform into foam to stop the leakage, followed by weberdry 600 i which is a flexible water seal two component resin that reacts in wet or dry cracks and joints to form a hydrophobic flexible seal.

  2. For structures exposed to negative hydrostatic pressure

Surfaces to be treated must be thoroughly inspected. The concrete surface must be cleaned and free from oil, grease, paint, loose dust, mud and laitance. The horizontal surface should not have to cure agents or hardeners and an angle fillet of 25mm x 25mm is made at all junctions between slabs and wall before applying weberdry crystal. It requires the presence of moisture to set off a chemical reaction "crystalline process" that penetrates deep in the capillaries of the concrete eliminating the migration of water and it is continuous as long as moisture is present in the concrete.
